William Rene Brinsfield Capitol Filmworks, Inc. goal is to maintain a small lab atmosphere and personal touch while providing mega-lab services. At Capitol Filmworks you will never be a number. Our goal is to know our customers and their needs. Capitol Filmworks, Inc. offers a full line of digital services providing photographers all the tools necessary to grow their studio. We support a full line of software including: PicturePackages.com, ProofandReprint.com, LabPrints, Eventpix and Art Leather Montage. As the software needs of our customers change , so will our software offerings. Our staff includes programmers, NAPP award winners, marketing experts and digital camera experts. If there is a question we can not answer in this ever changing industry , we will find the answer for you! Our late founder, Rene' Brinsfield, was never one to sit on his laurels and let the changes come to him. He always looked for a way to work faster and smarter. A brief glimpse at the evolution of Capitol Filmworks shows the current mind set those now at Capitol Filmworks have taken to heart. Capitol Filmworks, Inc. was founded in 1974 for the sole purpose of processing regional football game film for high school coaches. A dramatic change occurred when Rene' and future wife Joan could not get proofs back from a local lab. Rene' purchased a proofing printer, package printer and a processor and the photographic division of Capitol Filmworks was born.
ProShots gave Capitol Filmworks, Inc. its first national presence. Capitol Filmworks, Inc. began to attend numerous national and regional trade shows and has since never looked back. Rene' spotted the digital revolution years before it hit and had Capitol Filmworks well positioned for the change. In a struggling industry Capitol Filmworks, Inc. remains one of few small labs that has broken the mold and continues to grow. All of us at Capitol Filmworks, Inc. strive to improve every day. We strive to meet the photographers needs and to maintain that which Rene' started more than 30 years ago. It is a family affair , and we hope that rolls over to the way we care for our customers. Over the years Capitol Filmworks, Inc. pursued photographers in Central and South Alabama . Joan Brinsfield - Rene's wife, current owner and president - spent many years on the road pursuing new leads. Over time it was obvious that the local market was limited. Rene' realized , "OUR ABILITY TO MARKET OUR SERVICES AND GROW OUR LAB--WITHOUT HAVING ANYTHING UNIQUE TO OFFER--WAS REALLY PRETTY LIMITED , " so he found ProShots.
